Here is a glimpse of the content of The Spiritual Warrior’s Guide to Forbidden Wisdom: Nine Principles for Loving Living.

The Opening or Key prayer (Holy Quran, 1:1):

In the Name of God, Most Gracious Most Merciful.
All praise is due to God
Lord of the Worlds, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Master of the Day of Judgment.
You alone we worship (serve).
You alone we ask for help.
Guide us in the straight path.
The path of those whom You have blessed.
Not of those who have earned wrath
Nor the strayers.

  • The Nine Principles:

    Name
This chapter explains that you can name or rename anything in life, anything you see, feel, hear, do or believe. You are responsible and qualified to name yourself and your life as the first step in changing your condition from dissatisfaction to happiness and certainty of triumph.

    Praise
This chapter goes on and on extolling the virtues of praise. How it corrects imbalances in your body=mind=spirit. How it rectifies uncomfortable situations. How it is the second turn of The Key, the result of which gives you an “out” or much needed relief.

    Judge
Nothing occurs without the use of the mind to make decisions, and this is why exercising judgment is important to life. This chapter explores how to judge and the benefits of good judgment.

    Unify
The Oneness is where we are all going and in fact where we already are. This chapter is a meditation on unity as a concept and why it eludes us, and offers ways for us participate in activities that bring us into alignment with universal unity.

    Serve
Worship is service and to serve is to be a fit human being. Otherwise the adolescent questioning and reluctance continues without resolution and renders the person eternally self-absorbed. The chapter explains why serving is the answer to all human problems.

    Ask
The is the mature question that reasons and inquires, Who shall I serve next? Other queries include, What should I do now? or Where am I going? or Why am I here? The section dissects the significance and power of asking for what one truly wants and needs, from the heart-center.

    Receive
The profound truth is all questions are answered. All inquiries into the unknown are justified and heard. This chapter explores how preparation through practice of the previous principles renders one open and ready to receive.

    Struggle
Blades of grass struggle to stand tall and then burst through the slab of concrete; they are victorious. There is always struggle, but there doesn’t have to be dedication to what hurts or is “a pain.” Struggle is a stage of constriction and denotes the transition before a necessary expansion. This chapter explains why.

    Expand (Become)
Everything is everything, and everything is growing. The universe is on a never ending–at least in our perception–journey towards oneness. The aspiration, the experience of the aspiration and the goal are one and the same.

The nine principles express in all life forms similar to the various “universal laws.” They are always working and if we choose to adapt the attitude of loving living (process, not just Life), then it behooves us to take these nine principles to heart.
